#2

So this weekend I embarked in yet ANOTHER Amarillo adventure.... I am beginning to think that Amarillo is my second home... Sarcasm intended. My best friend from Nocona lives down there now and we had her 21st birthday party. What is better than cooking out with great friends. If you know anything about me, you will know that im not the outgoing, walk into a room and become instant friends with everyone kind of a person. But this weekend I was around people that made me feel at home and like we had know each other for years... I dont think it gets any better than down home country people, and manners that make you feel at home. First, we started out the weekend with a birthday party for my friend Kera with hamburgers, hot dogs, horseshoes music and ping pong... haha. Saturday, we did our fare share of shopping, thanks to Kirklands, Cavenders, the gay Amarillo Mall, and Market world... it was great to get to just relax and have some R&R with a great friend... Saturday night I experienced my first ever Amarillo Venom indoor football game, totally different than outdoor football (clearly) but interesting just the same... never in my life have I seen guys that big... haha, I dont get out much. After the game, we went to the Amarillo VFW (veterans of foreign wars). Why you ask? Kera's boyfriend Mike fought in the war and received an Honorable Discharge and is now working in Amarillo, but is an active member int he VFW in Amarillo, it was so much fun to be there and meet the people who have fought for our country in the past wars, plus we got to watch the "elders" dance it up in the other room... it makes me laugh to think about it, those people can REALLY move!!!! One thing that really stuck in my mind about being there was a man who came and sat with us and proceeded to talk to us about the Bible, and all the Heros that reminded him of his old war buddies, you never know when God is going to show Himself to you and remind you that He does go with us everywhere! Sunday we did a bit more shopping and went and ate, then unfortunately it was time for me to head back to the windless town of W.F.... I really miss my Amarillo friends and family, but the way that I see it, is that we only have one life to live and that we should use every moment to the fullest, whether it be doing what ever it takes to get family together, go see old friends, or just life each day with no regrets... God gave us our life to live and live it for him, so that in my opinion should give us every reason to wake up and never regret one moment of our life! :)
